Trip of the Month
A week on the Red Sea aboard the Coral Queen
M.Y.
Coral Queen is a beautifully designed 24m twin screw motor cruiser,
built in 1996 and owned by Guido Sherif, a dedicated diving enthusiast,
instructor and pioneer. Frequently referred to as a ‘second generation’
liveaboard by dive magazines, she provides a high level of comfort and
service with a crew very willing to organize the itinerary to suit her
divers’ needs. Coral Queen stands out amongst Red Sea liveaboards and
she will certainly spoil you for the future! Her robust hull follows
traditional Arabic lines, making her very stable for open sea cruising.
She has ideal specifications for long range dive cruises with water
desalination and comprehensive navigation & safety equipment. Her ample
aft deck is thoughtfully laid out for ease of suiting up and the spacious
transom is ideal for water entry when not using her zodiac tender. The
attractive salon with TV / video, is air conditioned as are her 6 comfortable
twin berth cabins. From October until the end of April her weekly northern
charters depart from Sharm El Sheikh whilst from May to the end of October
she will be operating southern expeditions. Her northern itinerary includes
the dramatic wall dives of Ras Mohamed, the wrecks of the Thistlegorm,
Dunraven and the four wrecks at Abu Nuhas as well as the many coral
islands and reef patches in the Gubal Straits. With over 500 species
of hard and soft coral found in this area, the sites visited are some
of the most colorful and distinctive in the Red Sea.
Guido and his experienced, caring crew are totally committed to providing
excellent service and the very best diving for the most discerning clients.
The 8 day tour includes direct flights each Sunday between Gatwick Airport
in London and Sharm, transfers, 7 nights full board (excluding drinks)
plus 6 days unlimited diving, guide, weights and tanks.

Like
everything else in life, there are both advantages and disadvantages
to liveaboards. Although many of today's dive vessels offer almost every
imaginable amenity — full double beds, private bathrooms, lush terry
cloth lounging bathrobes, gourmet meals, complete photo/video labs,
brilliantly thought out dive decks and diving platforms, and much more
— liveaboard diving is still not for everyone.
