This is a very unusual dive site with a very unusual set up. It is the site of a resort, which is built on an oil rig that has been converted into a dive base with accommodation for divers. It is located right next to Mabul Islands. Divers staying in the oilrig have unlimited diving and access to the dive site under the oil rig as well as other sites around Sipadan.
The site is mainly made up of corals that have grown around the structure of the old oilrig and divers can explore the area down to 40 metres.
The diving under the oil rig has a good amount of marine life and has similar species to other dive sites in Sipadan. The site is well known for the many critters and smaller marine life that can be spotted around the site. There are many different species of nudibranchs coming in many different sizes and colours. Pipefish are very common and there are frogfish of every imaginable colour.
Other marine life that can be seen from the dive site, include white and grey reef sharks that swim around the site in the deep blue, larger pelagic fish including trevally and barracuda, and many different tropical fish. The site is also well known as a night dive site as it is easily accessible and many different nocturnal shrimps, crustaceans, and nudibranchs can be seen at night.
