This manual is based on a safe approach of freediving integrated with yoga exercises not only to better the (scuba) diver's techniques but also to improve their mental state and quality of life.
The author is the protagonist of the wonderful Imax film "Ocean Men" and the Italian Free Diving world champion, who broke 17 world records in all the disciplines.
The "Manual of Freediving" is based on research and teachings developed at Umberto Pelizzari's Apnea Academy, and on techniques perfected by the predecessors of the world's best free-divers, such as Jacques Mayol and Enzo Maiorca.
This excellent read is full of interesting and useful information illustrated with clear images. This book is not based on the extreme competition that can make this sport so dangerous. In the last few years many people have lost their life doing freediving because of that. The Apnea Academy in Europe holds the best record for safety and for preparing the best world champions.
