Riau Archipelago w/ Alice Lee <<
Back to previous page
Diving in Riau is adventurous and can for some be challenging. The booming coral reefs are completely pristine and untouched, reef fish in abundance. The waters are also the final resting place for centuries worth of wrecks- be it Bugis skiffs, Dutch East Indies galleons or WW2 transport vessels, many still to be discovered. Riau islands will satisfy the macro photographer as the technical wreck diver alike. The multi lingual dive crew is still finding new wrecks and dive sites on a monthly basis.
The only Dive Operator in Riau Archipelago is P.T. Dive Riau. Situated in the Batam View Beach Resort on Batam Island. Batam Island is just 30 minutes ferry ride away from Singapore. With its World Class Airport Singapore is the number 1 transit hub and window to Asia.
The climate here is tropical with two seasons, a wet season from November to March and a dry season from June to October. Diving here operates
year-round as most of the dive sites are protected from 3 main islands of Batam, Bintan and Sumatra. Petong Beach, Riau Archipelago, Indonesia
