We have two this month in beautiful black and white:

Photo one: Stingray. Date taken: June 2004. Depth: Location: Bonaire.
Photo two: Squid. Date taken: March 2004. Depth: Location: Bahamas.

Digital Camera: Sony Cybershot 4.1, no strobe.

We were diving at appox. 100ft. when I came across the Stingray. I spotted it at the bottom of the sea. It was blowing air from its body causing the sand to stir and that's when I took the shot.

Diving about 60ft along the bottom trying to find a glimpse of an eel or other life on this coral bottom, the squid pair came along with such curiosity. They were great models for me. They had such an intense look in their eyes which made the photos even better for me. Black and white only seemed approriate in this case.

Underwater Film Festival It is the Academy Awards for Underwater Photographers and film-makers. The most prestigious underwater film festival in the world. Instead of an Oscar, you win a Golden Fin!
