I used to freelance at a wonderful little resort called Reef House, and although every dive with them was special (which had a lot to do with the dive team, Choco the boat-captain and David the DM – the most hilarious pair!) this dive site was my particular favourite.
Calvin’s Crack is in fact more of a tunnel due to its numerous overhangs, so you need good buoyancy for this site. The entrance opens at 20ft and you descend down through the walls covered in wire coral, to the exit of the crack at 90ft.
From there we’d slowly wind our way up the wall, which is bursting with clusters of vase sponges, gorgonians, and brain and thin-leaf coral, and sometimes if you were lucky you could spot the elusive toad fish. Whilst off of the wall barracuda, hunting jacks, and permits pass you by.
