This dive site is often said to be one of the healthiest dive sites within the Similan Islands and is often the first place divers coming out of Phuket will visit. It is has a varied topography with ledges, caves, archways, and large underwater rocks making it a great place for exploring the underworld. It is a suitable place for all level of divers and makes a great place to learn to dive.
The maximum depth of the dive site is about 24 metres and the coral is in very good condition. Its relatively shallow depths provide the dive site with its name. It is very popular and so can get quite busy but that does not detract from how good the dive site is.
There are many different marine species to spot here including many different types of groupers and snappers. Schools of barracuda and tuna are commonly spotted here, as are lobsters, stingrays, and leopard sharks. Other types of marine life easily spotted are Fusiliers, Lion Fish, Napoleon Wrasse, Parrotfish, Stonefish, Jack fish and Scorpionfish. Amongst the soft and hard corals, divers can spot anemone fish and many different types of nudibranchs. Most of the Andaman Sea species are found here and so divers can also look forward to spotting triggerfish, boxfish, angel fish, and butterfly fish.
