This is another cluster of fantastic dive sites that all offer divers the chance to spot the large varieties of Raja Ampat marine life. The island is also home to one of the most beautiful parts of Raja Ampat, a bay called Hidden Bay. This bay is difficult to spot and is made up of rocky islets and steep cliffs.
The eastern part of the island is known as East of Penemu and is a great dive site. There are many dive walls with slopes that are covered in soft and hard corals. There are many different crabs, sea spiders, clams, shrimps, and sea urchins amongst the corals as well as many varieties of reef fish.
On the southern part of the island, there is a dive site called South Penemu. This has a fantastic pinnacle covered in soft corals and anemones of all different colours. The pinnacle is home to large schools of fusiliers, jack fish, and batfish. Giant trevallies are also spotted here along with snappers, and rainbow runners. In the shallower parts, there will be larger groups of sweetlips and lionfish, as well as many other reef fish of the area.
The island has many more dive sites, many of which have not yet been explored. It is fast becoming a more popular spot for liveaboard dive boats for this reason as divers are beginning to explore the island further.
