Ananda is a magnificent liveaboard vessel. It has been refurbished and refitted by its new owners and is now one of the best luxury liveaboards among our vessels. This 28.35m long vessel is a two-mast, traditional Phinisi boat made of ironwood. It is not very big but has three large air-conditioned double-cabins with teak decks. Each cabin can comfortably accommodate two people. Thus it is ideal for families or a group of friends travelling together. Ananda travels all across the Indonesian islands, and because of its size, is kept available solely for private chartering.
The three double-cabins are below the deck. One of these is comparatively large and accommodates a big extra bed while the other two are situated towards the centre and have queen beds. Natural light seeps into the cabins through the sky lights and you can view the ocean in all its majesty through the portholes. All cabins have en suite bathrooms and round-the-clock provision for hot water.
There is a shaded area on the deck, suitable for relaxing and for alfresco dining. There is a similar dining and lounging space towards the inside of the vessel as well. This inner dining hall is a lovely one with glowing lanterns and stained-glass windows. This room has a laptop with Wi-Fi connection for customer use, though internet availability can be assured only if the services are locally available. There is also a sound system plus a ukulele and guitar for those who can play them. A third lounge area with soft cushions is on the top deck. This one is ideal for enjoying the sights of the sea as well as the fine cuisine.
Those aboard Ananda will have at their disposal an experienced diving instructor and a Western Cruise Director. The diving equipment provided is typically a 215 litre compressor, wet suits, mask, fins, and BCD’s regs. The compressor will have two 100 Litre backups. The vessel has a 15hp engine. The aluminium speed boat in it has a speed of 25 knots and has two 40hp outboards. Everything inside Ananda is, in short, designed to provide you the utmost comfort while travelling to the dive sites.
