This steel-hulled scuba diving liveaboard is equipped with twin engines that will effortlessly cruise at between 9-10 knots to the best dive sites in Indonesia.

Dive Facilities

Dives are organised up to 4 times a day and night-dives are also available. Nitrox is available and she carries 10 sets of full dive gear.

The 14-man crew onboard the KM Black Manta are very experienced, friendly and hard working. Mike, the Dive Master has worked these waters for many years so you are guaranteed a good dive every time.

Black Manta issues each diver with a Sea-Safe personal radio beacon system, a tracking and location system, which is clipped to your BCD. Currents can be strong at certain times of the year in Indonesia so this extra safety precaution ensures that wherever you surface on the dive site, the dive tender will arrive promptly to pick you up.

The Black Manta gave us a really memorable experience that I would highly recommend to others.

We travelled from the North to the South of Komodo in July and made great friends with the crew who were very professional, friendly and interesting.

If I had to point out any negatives it would only be that there is slight room for improvement in the variety of food and drinks offered. Wine, for example, was not available on board and this would have been nice for some guests who did not want to drink beer.

The entire experience was sensational though, and it was well worth the money spent.

Recommended for: A relaxed and enjoyable cruise.

The Black Manta was a valuable experience that I would definitely repeat.

Although the rooms and showers could have been bigger, the crew was really lovely and always ready to have a chat.

Each guest received a personalized experience which made it very special and very enjoyable. Of course the diving, on-shore excursions and the Komodo Dragons were also a great treat!

Recommended for: Highly efficient and friendly crew members
