Mangguana liveaboard cruises the waters of Komodo National Park on a fixed 7-day diving itinerary, which you can join at anytime and for as many days as you desire.

She departs from Labuan Bajo in Flores which requires a domestic flight from Bali. Private charters can include additional areas of Banta and Sanggean, which are outside of the Komodo National Park.

SMY Mangguana accommodates 8 divers in 4 en-suite cabins making your time on-board an intimate experience, making this a perfect choice for dive groups and private charters.

This 27m traditional Indonesian schooner has been built with liveaboard diving in mind. She was renovated to a high standard in 2007 and has become a popular get-a-way for small groups. She is equipped with the latest navigational and safety equipment.

As part of your liveaboard scuba diving experience you will also have the opportunity of private excursions on white sandy beaches, fishing and Komodo dragon trekking in Rinca island ranger station.

Dive Facilities

Diving is conducted from the mothership and after each dive you will be collected by a dive tender dinghy fitted with outboard motor. The exact itinerary will vary depending on seasonal conditions and

Dives are organised up to 5 times a day, which includes a night-dive, and appeal to all tastes and levels. Nitrox is available. In addition to her 5-man crew there is a multilingual cruise director, as well as an experienced dive master who knows the sites well.

General Facilities

The main deck comprises a saloon and combined dining room which is furnished with good amenities including TV and A/V entertainment system, a computer and overhead projector which can be used to view your underwater photos. There is also a collection of books and movies for use throughout your trip.

The on-board bar stocks a selection of local beers, wines and other alcoholic beverages that can be purchased. Soft drinks, tea, coffee and drinking water are available 24-hours a day.

On the upper deck you’ll enjoy a part shaded sun-deck with sun loungers.


Meals are of international standard with a focus on seafood. Special dietary requirements can be catered for on request.

Meals are served 3 times a days, served open-buffet style. Drinks and snacks are provided after each dive and throughout the day.


The Mangguana hosts a small group of only 8 guests per trip. There are 4 spacious cabins for guests to choose from, all of which have air-conditioning and en-suite facilities. The cabins are all found on the main deck and feature windows with great views of the surroundings.

Three of the cabins have a bunk bed style arrangement with a double bed as the lower bunk and a single bed as the upper bunk.

There is one cabin that features both a double bed and single bed, however these are not arranged into bunk beds.
