I had a great time aboard the Mermaid II when I visited Indonesia in March.

The diving, although very busy underwater, was great. The dive briefings were very well-conducted and the crew was helpful especially when kitting up.

I would highly recommend the southern dive sites, where I found the visibility to be excellent. My only gripe was the smoking area on the shaded main deck which dampened the experience for me as a non-smoker.

All in all it was a fantastic trip and one that I would highly recommend.

Recommended for: Great diving, especially in the south

I absolutely loved the experience of being onboard the Mermaid II.

I was especially impressed with the diving, which of course I had heard was great in Raja Ampat, but I had no idea how wonderful it would really be.

I also really valued the detailed dive introductions and briefings by the crew members – this helped a great deal and added value to the experience.

I would definitely visit Raja Ampat again, and would choose to do so on board the Mermaid II, which is also a very well-maintained vessel where I made great memories.

Recommended for: Great crew members, especially those conducting dive briefings
