Explore the spectacular atolls in the south of the Maldives whilst travelling on the MV Sheena, a genuine Maldivian liveaboard that is renovated twice a year to maintain customer satisfaction. At 24 metres long, the MV Sheena offers a unique and personalized experience with high levels of comfort for each guest.

Sheena

The Sheena Liveaboard

The MV Sheena boasts 4 sundecks, some of which have shaded spaces and a large saloon for relaxing indoors. Enjoy an outdoor dining experience with ‘family style’ meals or choose to eat your meal in the comfortable saloon.

Dive up to three times a day off the great MV Sheena and explore all that this world-class diving destination is hiding beneath the surface of its waters. The MV Sheena will travel as far as Felidhoo Atoll, giving divers the chance to dive at the popular Male Atolls to the north and south of this area as well as the rarely visited Gaafu Alifu Atoll and Meemu Atoll. There are 9 crew members on-board to cater to your every need whilst travelling on the MV Sheena, and each of these dedicated crew members works hard to ensure that your time aboard is an enjoyable and memorable one. Divers can hope to see hammerhead sharks, magnificent manta rays and even the world’s largest fish, the whale shark when diving in the Maldives.

Dive Facilities

All diving is conducted from a dive tender (diving dhoni) with a capacity for 18 divers. Your diving equipment will remain on the dhoni for the duration of your safari and your tank will be filled at your dedicated tank bay. NITROX is available.

Three dives are scheduled per day and you will have the opportunity of 1-2 night dives each week.

It is compulsory for each diver to wear a computer, to be in possession of a surface marker buoy, an alternate air source and for the night dives per diver one torch as well as a strobe light per buddy team. All equipment needed can be rent at our dive center in Medhufushi.

General Facilities

Lower Deck

The lower deck provides 5 cabins plus one additional cabin where the dive team sleep.

Main Deck

On the main deck you’ll find a spacious (about 50 m²) saloon and combined dining area. This is a convenient place to engage in your pre dive briefings as well as watch the days underwater footage on the large screen TV and DVD entertainment system. A comfortable outdoor decked area, complete with loungers, is located to the front of the salon. To the rear of the salon there is another seating area. Both are a perfect location to relax between dives and soak up some of the beautiful Maldivian sunshine.

Upper Deck

There are 2 large owners cabins on the upper deck. The wheelhouse is also on this deck. The captain is always on hand to share his knowledge of the Maldives with you. In addition to the main sun deck, there is also a second sun deck located in front of the wheel house with a comfortable relaxation area. At the rear of this deck you’ll find another outdoor seating area.

Top Deck

The sun-deck is positioned at the very top of the boat. This part-shaded area has plenty of sun loungers so you can top up your tan between dives.

Accommodation

Cabins on the lower deck are also suitable for single guests and diving buddies, as they are furnished with two single beds. Both cabins located on the upper deck (Owners cabins) are larger, with an area of almost 17sqm, and are furnished with double beds.

All 8 cabins (one of which is used by the diving instructor), have en-suite bathrooms featuring all the usual facilities – including a basin, toilet with a normal flushing system (ie. no complicated/unusual flushing methods), and a fresh water shower. There is also naturally a continuous supply of power (220V). Another cabin, located on the main deck, is allocated to staff. In the salon there is also an extra shelf for recharging underwater lights and video equipment.

Menu

Meals will primarily be served at a large table located outside at the stern, but can also be enjoyed in the spacious salon at 3 large tables. There is a well-stocked bar offering a wide variety of drinks for guests enjoyment in the salon and on the shaded deck. Tea, coffee and water are available, free of charge, all day.

A barbecue on one of the islands is also arranged once a week – undoubtedly one of the highlights of every tour on the Sheena! On request, a romantic candlelight dinner for two under the stars on the sun deck, can be arranged.
