The Girdled Parma (Parma unifasciata) is a temperate water fish species that is endemic to the east coast of Australia. It can be found from the waters of southern Queensland down to southern New South Wales. It can be found on rocky reefs and within coastal estuaries and embayments. It uses rocky crevices and ledges for protection. Adults are significantly different in appearance to the juveniles. Juveniles are bright orange in colour with iridescent blue lines and spots on the upper dorsal section whilst the adults are grey/silver in colour with a white bar through the middle of the body. The Girdled Parma(Parma unifasciata) grows to a maximum length of approximately 20cm.
