The Spongy Jorunna (Jorunna sp) is an uncommon nudibranch species that is thought to be distributed throughout the waters of the Indo-western Pacific region. This species has been recorded in Australia in New South Wales from Byron Bay to Sydney however it is expected that its distribution is broader. This species can be recognised by its pale purple colouration and it is generally always found on the purple sponge Callyspongia sp. This species camouflages very well with its purple sponge food source.
The Spongy Jorunna (Jorunna sp) is known to grow to at least 4cm in length.
