At Fan Canyon, one can go as deep as they want, but the coolest things are available from 20-19 meters above.
In the sandy bottom part of the dive site, there are rays and batfish.
I was lucky to meet some divers who pointed two ghost pipefish to me as well. Then, closer to the reef I saw a big gorgonian fan coral and followed the canyon upwards.
Below me, big sweetlips and groupers were swimming and while looking at the walls there were many different types of colourful nudibranchs and flat warms.
Again, I was lucky and I spotted a big scorpion fish. With the narrow, canyon alike passages it’s fun to look for more gorgonian fans; some of them being bigger than 3 meters in diameter.
The name of the site describes the main attractions well, but cannot simply contain its charm and the awe one has seeing such a big gorgonian fans there.
