Koh Tao

With over 50 dive shops located on the tiny island of Koh Tao and most of them offering scuba diving training, those wanting to learn to dive or advance their qualifications will have a wide variety of places to choose from. In fact, Koh Tao is the second highest provider of dive certifications in the world. Sites in the area are of course well-explored but definitely still worthy of a visit.

Khao Lak

As a gateway to the Surin and Similan Islands in the Andaman Sea, Khao Lak is certainly a convenient place to visit when embarking on scuba diving adventures in the area. Scuba courses and liveaboard options are all available from Khao Lak, which literally translates to ‘Lak Mountain’.

Koh Phi Phi

One of the most famous islands in Thailand, Koh Phi Phi is picture-perfect both above and below the water’s surface. Dive sites along the Andaman coast vary from walls to coral gardens and boast regular sightings of sharks and turtles.

Koh Lanta

Koh Lanta offers easy access to the superb dive sites located at Koh Haa. Here divers will find great marine species in every shape and size as well as protected coral reefs and great visibility to top it all off.

Sipadan

Easily one of the world’s top 10 diving spots, Sipadan Island is known for its rich underwater life, beautiful coral reefs and dramatic drop offs. For many divers, it doesn’t get much better than Sipadan dive sites in terms of marine biodiversity.

Tioman

Take a boat trip to the island of Tioman and you won’t be disappointed! With a variety of dive sites scattered around the island, some up to a 2 hour boat ride away, the sites offer something for every diver’s preference. You could opt for interesting macro life, swim-through opportunities or even shark and turtle sightings at a number of the sites.

Perhentian Islands

The Perhentian Islands are home to many dive sites that boast an abundance of wonderful species including the rare and protected hawksbill and green turtles. Other notable sightings include the colourful bumphead parrotfish and black tip reef sharks.

Mataking Island

With something for everyone, Mataking Island is certainly a worthwhile holiday destination for scuba diving enthusiasts. A large variety of underwater sites await, with plenty to see in the way of big and small underwater life.

Mabul

Just a short boat ride from Sipadan Islands lies one of the best macro dive locations in the world, Mabul Island. Discover weird and wonderful creatures such as nudibranchs, dwarf stonefish, blue-ringed octopus and harlequin ghost pipefish to name just a few. For guaranteed brilliant macro diving, Mabul Island is not to be missed.

Layang Layang

Layang-Layang is an underwater paradise not to be missed! Dive sites in the area boast well-protected coral atolls, an abundance of fish life and regular sightings of hammerheads and whale sharks.

Lankayan

With over 20 dive spots to explore including reefs and wreck sites, Lankayan Island is an ideal diving location. Everything from the very big to the very small is on display with the chance to see nudibranchs and whale sharks all in the same location.

Langkawi

Impressive sights abound at Langkawi Island, known for its interesting underwater rock formations and magnificent reefs teaming with marine life. No matter your diving qualification, there is something for everyone. Many divers choose to access these great sites from the highly acclaimed Pulau Payar Marine Park.

Kapalai

Muck diving enthusiasts are spoiled for choice at Kapalai, regarded by many as one of the best macro dive spots nearby Sipadan. Kapalai achieves the title of muck diver’s paradise by offering loads of interesting and well-hidden creatures ideal for underwater macro photographers with a keen eye.

Wakatobi

There’s never a dull moment at Wakatobi, a group of 4 islands that boast a large variety of different reefs and atolls to explore. The presence of dolphins and whales is fairly regular along the areas of fringing reefs and barrier reefs, making for an exciting experience.

Lembeh Strait

Lembeh Strait is macro diving heaven! With new species discovered on an impressively regular basis, each species as weird and wonderful as the next, divers never know what they might discover at these fantastic sites. Gili Islands

Bali’s Gili Islands are home to an abundance of fish life, with a variety of schooling fish to see in the often strong currents. The Gili Islands are made up of Biaha, Mimpang and Tepekong and the waters surrounding these islands offer great visibility as well as dangerous downcurrents.

Bunaken

Located in the centre of the world’s most marine biodiverse region, Bunaken is home to an impressive variety of underwater life. For those who enjoy beautiful wall dives, Bunaken should not be missed!

Bali

There’s no mystery as to why Bali is a top destination for scuba divers: just the fact that these crystal clear waters are home to the the magnificent Mola Mola should be reason enough to visit! Divers are also likely to be treated to manta ray sightings and great macro life. Bali is a welcoming, inexpensive holiday destination with plenty to do above the water too.

Raja Ampat

Raja Ampat is one of those places that needs to be seen to be believed. With fantastic, exotic species at your every turn, this underwater paradise is set in a remote location that is as beautiful above the water’s surface as it is below. Komodo

Komodo is a very popular choice amongst divers, and for good reason! Strong currents are prevalent in some areas, making drift diving one of the more highly sought-after experiences. These biodiverse waters offer regular sightings of reef sharks, turtles, manta rays and plenty of schooling fish as well as macro life and critters for those with a keen eye.

The Red Sea has long been a favourite amongst divers, and for good reason. With over 1000 fish species calling this beautiful sea their home, the area also boasts a number of famous WWII wrecks and fantastic underwater scenery.

Australia

Boasting the world’s largest barrier reef as well as plenty of large marine animal sightings, Australia is undoubtedly a top diving destination. The nearby Coral Sea and the many protected marine parks in the area provide the ideal setting for many types of marine creatures to thrive: sharks, potato groupers and minke whales can all be spotted in Australian waters. Divers of all experience levels can enjoy diving in Australia.

Philippines

The Philippines is synonymous with brilliant scuba diving thanks to its 7000 islands lying in the centre of the world’s greatest area of marine diversity, the famous Coral Triangle.
